St. Patrick’s Rocketship hapameals

Haven’t seen little hapas on the streets lately? Well that’s because we’ve been very busy in our test kitchen, creating interplanetary goodies for hungry lunch meeters, street gobblers and biscuit dunkers! Our latest offering is quite literally out of this world and something St. Patty would be proud of. (Well that’s what the members of the luncheon party said anyway.)

St. Patrick’s Rocketship hapameals

colcannonball chowder with rocket launchers

colcannonball chowder with rocket launchers

rocket-powered colcannonball chowder: This is colcannon with a kick! We only went and chowderized it. Fluffy baked potato and crispy potato skin pieces mixed into a new potato, sautéed cavolo nero (black kale), leek and onion chowder and topped with a garlicky, cheesy, sempkin flower seed, rocket pesto. There were 14 kinds of happy jigs danced after this little tummy warmer went down!

rocket launchers: rocket pesto & parmesan baked tortilla crisp bread — on their own or piled on top of your colcannonball chowder. O.M.G. Beckay!

hapaslaw: cabbage, carrots, mangetout, green onions, sempkin flower seeds, *cowgrrl dressing & **hapasauce. What’s a St. Patty’s Day without cabbage?

oh my guinness! moonpies

oh my guinness! moonpies

o’ my guinness! moonpies: a gooey marshmallow and vanilla white chocolate pillow, group-hugged by two chocolate coconut oh my Guinness! graham-cakey-cookies. What the-!? We don’t need to say anything more about this. Have one with a glass of milk, a cuppa or, heck, even a Guinness!

If you have a meeting coming up and want a lunch that will wake everyone up, call round for a céilí! We’ll create a menu just for you.

*rocket pesto, rocket launchers & cowgrrl dressing contain dairy. **hapasauce contains soy and sesame.

Please ma’am, may we have more!?

happycustomersIt was a cold, crisp, sunny Saturday afternoon on the corner of Lingfield & Dormans Park Road, right in front of MacPhersons Glass . . . folks were busy walking into town, queuing up at A S Fry and shopping at objets d’art . . . while little hapas heated the griddle up and made piping hot pizzadillas, crispy grilled-cheese crumpets and monster korritos! We had a great opening and want to thank everyone who stopped by, sampled our hapacorn & hapasauce, chatted while we cooked your food and showed interest by taking our menus.

We’ll be back this Saturday (15 December, 11am-2pm), so don’t eat that cold sandwich before you head out for shopping in East Grinstead! You’ll need sustenance to battle the cold and throngs of Holiday shoppers.  little hapas cooks up good, hot, healthy, delicious fusion food that will give you strength, stamina and, if you have our korrito . . . superhuman-kimchee-power!! We’re pretty sure you can’t get that anywhere this side of London. And as far as the korrito goes, you can’t get that ANYWHERE else. That’s our own creation.  You really have to try one.

little hapas famous "korrito" (Korean burrito). Korean refried beans, our special blend of rice and barley, aged British cheddar, a blend of Italian cheeses, wazelnuts, sempkin flower seeds, avocado, hapasauce, cowgrrl dressing and pi-Korea de gallo (a fresh tomato salsa with onions, pepper, coriander, garlic & little hapas kimchee); rolled, grilled and ready to devour!

As the new year approaches, we’re gearing up for weekday lunches and Friday evening before-or-after-pub grub 😉 Follow us on twitter and check back here often to find out where and when! Also, if you have an idea where you might like to see us roll up, send us a message. We’re always open to suggestions!

We’ll leave you with this dessert suggestion: PEANUT BUTTER COOKIE SANDWICH. Just read the description, m’koy!?

Two chewy American-style peanut butter cookies with our rich, creamy vanilla-pod-white-chocolate-butter-cream and peanut butter filling. We know most Brits may not be too familiar with the American tradition of mixing peanut butter with something sweet, but you have to trust us. We haven’t met a Brit yet who hasn’t gone gaga over this!
